Cabbage, Young Cabbage & Curly Green

This illustration of a “Cabbage, Young Cabbage, Curly Green” is from the book The Farm Shown to the Children by FM and AH Blaikie, with descriptions by Foster Meadow. Published by TC & EC Jack of London & Edinburgh, it is believed to have been published circa 1908 based on other books in the Shown to Children series. Little is known about FM Blaikie, except that he was an English artist active from 1904 to 1914 who illustrated numerous children books all using soft pastel colours. Each colour plate in this book is described by Foster Meadow, who wrote in the introduction, “This little book has therefore been written, and its pages enriched and brightened by coloured pictures, in the hope of awakening in you an intelligent interest in farming”.

How to Measure:

• Lay an existing t-shirt flat.
• Body Width: Measure 3cm below armpit, from one side to the other.
• Body Length: Measure from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the t-shirt.
